Overview

?

This build is amazing for leveling your Primalist Beastmaster from the start of the game until endgame content. It's also capable of clearing endgame content for some time. It's incredibly easy to gear, play and powerful even for beginners or players who are new to ARPG's.

This is a melee build that uses a single companion with Summon Sabertooth that is buffed through the passive skill trees to make it even stronger. Focusing on PrefixMelee Damage, PrefixMelee Physical Damage, PrefixStrength, and PrefixMinion Damage allow you to scale the damage well beyond what you need to breeze through the game while collecting gear to transition into another build later on if you plan to push the limits of endgame content. Without a mana cost Swipe is spammable and allows you to have nearly zero down time.

Survival is made possible by having a good offense. Affixes gained in the passive tree like PrefixShared Physical Damage Leeched As Health compliment buffs like Boar Heart provides and are gained when attacking. Fury Leap is useful for engaging enemies or escaping as it provides health and immunity when used with this build.

For utility we have Eterra's Blessing which can heal our pet while providing a large damage boost at the same time. This damage boost can be furthered by activating the Summon Sabertooth to make use of Flurry Swipes for large burst damage. Summon Frenzy Totem can maintain nearly 100% uptime to buff our damage output as well but is only really needed for elites or bosses as the build has enough damage to clear normal mobs without difficulty. Be mindful this ability has a short cast time so it's preferred to not cast it while clearing normal mobs.

For equipment, it's not required to cap your resistances or armor to reach the endgame, but these stats will certainly aid you along the way. Aim for 40%+ for every resist and an armor value of 30%+. Having these will increase survivability and there's enough damage within the build to allow room for these on your gear without needing perfectly rolled items.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Solo all content until endgame

Fast clear speed

Pet can kill bosses while you kite or avoid damage

Cons

Low mitigation - survives through attacking via leech

Single companion pet

Gameplay / Mechanics

The build was designed to have simple gameplay for the leveling process. Buffs like Summon Sabertooth, Eterra's Blessing and Summon Frenzy Totem can all be activated. Use them at your discretion as they're all very short cooldowns and you'll likely be able to use them multiple times on bosses. There's really no need to conserve any of them as you clear and PrefixMana is rarely an issue with this build.

Swipe as mentioned, can be spammed and Fury Leap can be used as mobility, an escape tool or to engage enemies. Your companion does surprisingly large damage and you can control your character to avoid incoming projectiles or explosions as needed.

The build is most vulnerable when you engage into ranged mobs that might have numerous projectiles headed at you before you reach them. Make sure to zigzag or move your character out of the way if you're not attacking anything. Once you're hitting enemies the PrefixMelee Damage Leeched as Health will sustain your health pool.

Stat Priorities

Equipment

Gearing is relatively straight forward and many affixes are beneficial. Stormhide Paws are also not required. There is no priority system needed for leveling just use any of the beneficial stats like PrefixMelee Damage, PrefixMelee Physical Damage, PrefixShared Bleed Chance On Hit, PrefixMinion Damage, PrefixMinion Health, PrefixMovement Speed, SuffixAll Resistances, SuffixArmour or PrefixStrength. Again aim for 40%+ for all resistances and 30%+ reduction on your Armor value (found on character sheet).

Idols

There are no mandatory idols for this build. Singularity is a solid choice since no passive points are put into crit chance or damage. Aside from that idols are a good way to boost any resistances that are low.

Build Variants

Leveling

Leveling with this build is very quick and easy. The general rule is to always place passive points into the latest nodes you've unlocked, backfilling after the later nodes are completed. This will give you the more powerful passives quicker.

Endgame

This build will begin to become less viable as you surpass level 75. You will likely need to stack mitigation or respec the character's passive tree for survivability.
