Overview

?

Bernard became one with nature and calls forth hordes of totems to inflict rapid amounts of critical strikes; Overpowering his enemies with shred and thorns.

This is a hybrid Druid-Shaman solo companion totem build. We rely on PrefixIncreased Cast Speed to pour out masses of damage using a simple skill rotation to give us shred and amplifying the damage with Entangling Roots. We also rely on our idols for amplifying our spell damage. These idols give us a MASSIVE boost in DPS Grand Heorot Idol.

Upon transformation into the Spriggan Form, Bernard will get +300 Armor and a 50% increased to spell damage. The planner is already designed to show you the values when IN form.

Our damage from our primary attack of Spirit Thorns individually is not that high. However, we shoot them at a tremendous rate of pace, with our crit chance so high, our multipliers in the 400's% and almost a dozen totems laying down critical strikes that shred, this is more than enough to comfortably clear all enemies in the area without too much hassle.

We put our totems out in front, and our vines will cover our rear and agro enemies who chase us.

The Summon Thorn Totem will generally always pull agro, and since these totem are also Summon Healing Totem, they will also heal themselves. These totems will also be applying shred which allow for bigger enemies to come down relatively quickly.

We utilize Valetide 1/3, Spiritwhisperer 3/3 and Cycle of Life 3/3 to proc vale spirits. Since resummoning totems happens very quickly in our build, we can almost instantly have the Valetide 1/3 power ready to automatically throw our level of Entangling Roots. These Entangling Roots give our totems and companion 10 physical base damage and 40 spell base damage (Wild Weapons 2/2, Blooming Magic 5/5) This also shreds 5 physical resistance with Shredding Vines 5/5. This is also our means of keep our rage topped up with Poisonous Seeds 3/5 and Rampant Growth 1/1. This will leave seeds that detonate and create vines that generate rage with Tears of the Forest.

We also utilize the Silvafrond to also generate vines as well as use it as our movement skill when we directly cast Summon Vines while in form.

This build feels very safe, between our armor and healing from totems and Eterra's Blessing, while is automatically casted when you use Thorn Shield. This automates the build fairly seamlessly, allowing for minimal APS and a simple skill rotation.

As always, my builds never require LP to function, but the build can be improved if found.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Simple skill rotation

Healing always readily available

No mana issues

Safe "play behind minions" style

Cons

Finding Idols IS NOT FUN

Bossing can be a struggle till the build is moderately geared (T6 and up)

Gameplay / Mechanics

Have your Summon Spriggan up and ready to go.

First start any boss fight or echo with the max amount of vines by procing Entangling Roots and casting Summon Vines. If you fail to do this, you will fall out of form when you least expect it.

Cast Summon Thorn Totem as many times as it takes to have 4 Vale Spirit's at enemies. Get close enough so when you Spirit Thorns the Entangling Roots will hit, shred and immobilize targets. This effect does stack, so use it as often as you like. Refer to the playstyle video for reference.

Use Summon Vines to port and put down more vines to continue rage generation. Your seeds planted by Entangling Roots will explode giving you more vines and rage generation.

———

For more difficult encounters, actively use your Thorn Shield, which will heal and cause a large burst of damage on either you or any minion that you place it on. This will also give you 2 more Summon Thorn Totem / Summon Healing Totem. Majority of the time, this will not be necessary. However, you can do this in order to cheese a difficult enemy who is agro'd on your totems.

Endgame

The endgame is just a chance to chase high tier 7 or even double exalted. The demo video is shown with sub-par gear, but I was still able to clear echo's and bosses with little difficulty.

Finding LP should not be a priority, but if found, you could amp spell damage, or critical multipliers on the amulet (Tears of the Forest). For the Silvafrond, you could chase down LP to add more spell damage or even attunement would work.

Loot Filter

No loot filter is provided for this guide. You can generate a loot filter for this build in the Build Planner or create one using Filter Wizard in the Loot Filters section.
