Overview

?

Greetings, my ingame name is Turbo! I am not a content creator but wanted to share an amazing self found build I've been working on recently. Feel free to message me ingame to discuss ideas on how to improve even further.

On to the build! As most of gaming vet's know, its seldom a good idea to introduce multiple damage types into a build. Well this one is definitely the exception as I have mixed a significant amount of flat damage sources across physical, cold, and necrotic to deliver the ultimate squirrel damage!

Dubbed the death knight squirrels due to the mix of damage types, this build requires very active game play to maximize your damage and stay alive.

This is a very costly build that requires Herald of the Scurry , 2x Apogee of Frozen Light, and Yulia's Path to really pull off the insane single target damage. Its foundation is simple...stack as much flat damage and abuse the sheer # of Primal Squirrels applying damage and armor shred along with "more" damage from Apogee of Frozen Light.

Without any form of movement skill this build requires a strong knowledge of game mechanics to stay alive but the upside is....everything just DIES.

It is a death ball of fur, fury, and raw carnage providing one of the most satisfying raw damage builds I have came up with or played since LE was first created. Best of all it does not abuse any known bugs that I am aware of, enjoy!

Primary Accomplishments:

3.53 second J4 kill from time of engagement to death

2 second Soulfire Bastion T4 boss kill from time of engagement to death

Pros & Cons

Pros

Extremely high single target dps

Solid hp sustain, no mana issues w/ swipe refill

Multiple defensive layers due to primalist passives

Good for MP w/ frenzy totem buffs & armor shred (requires tweak to Frenzy skills)

Freeze CC & Immunity on Warcry very strong

Cons

No movement skill & abit squishy, need to melee to maximize dps

Very active gameplay (good or bad depending on your style)

Mono clear is pretty fast but not top tier

Very expensive build

Gameplay / Mechanics

The key elements of the build that come together to make this an S+ Tier boss killer are:

While very active, game play is easy.

  1. Maelstrom frequently to ensure 20+ stacks leveraging Beneath The Waves 3/3 for high necrotic flat damage (60-80 pending roll on Yulia's Path)
  2. Swipe constantly to refill mana, assist in shred, proc Wild Calling 3/3, and proc a variety of buffs
  3. Warcry to add Maelstrom stacks, target CC mass mobs/boss mechanics, or setup burst dps with Frigid Breath 1/1, Frost Claw 2/5 and Bringer of Winter 1/1
  4. Summon Frenzy Totem on cool down in boss fights/heavy fighting, do not worry about timing for resets on Sciurine Rage. I suggest autolocking Sciurine Rage so you can stay concentrated on positioning and your other abilities.

With our gear primarly focused on dps and health blessings fill in alot of resistant gaps. Adjust accordingly.

Build Variants

Leveling

This build guide is not suited for leveling, so you should look for primalist leveling guides. This build is a higher level end game build requiring multiple uniques. You can not level effectively with it until Yulia's Path and Herald of the Scurry are obtained and wearable in your late 70's.

Endgame

This build is 100% meant to destory bosses before you even need to worry about mechanics. Outside of that, its a solid corruption pusher but will run into issues at extreme levels of corruption as it just doesn't have enough survivability or movement to take some of the range damage especially w/ dual wield penalty. A fair trade off for killing J4 with your eyes closed!

NOTE: The attached 3.53 second J4 kill had 2-3 minor tweaks changing out a few defensive nodes to squeeze out every ounce of damage. The build included in this guide still had a respectable 5 second kill.

Loot Filter

No loot filter is provided for this guide. You can generate a loot filter for this build in the Build Planner or create one using Filter Wizard in the Loot Filters section.

FAQ

Areas To Further Explore/Consider:

I have not put much time into this build (few nights play max to build it, test, and tweak) so its hardly optimized. I tried testing some various aspects and alternative skills/points and am comfortable with the majority of the build as a rock solid start especially based off my kill speed. That being said below are items I need to further explore/would love some input from more knowledgeable players.

1) Summon Wolf 's Victory Howl 1/3 and Snarl 1/2 may be bugged or just flat don't work (as maybe they intend). Since Herald of the Scurry changes Howl, I think these nodes aren't properly triggering on kill. If you look at all the other interactions with Howl as the description in other nodes/skills the game properly views Sciurine Rage as a "howl". It also treats squirrels as being equivalent to wolves in skill node verbiage. So not sure what's going on but with my build up top, Howl should be proccing nonstop clearing mono's which would help clear speed a bit with constant crit, damage, and attack speed buff of basically 100% uptime as long as mobs were there. If this is bugged/working as intended without proc'ing then we should remove those 2 points as the 50% increase damage probably is better used on another nodes depending on how many total Summon Wolf points you have.

2) Tweak Summon Frenzy Totem skill points if you spend the majority of your time playing with other people. If you are solo the increased buff values for your squirrels far exceeds the value of getting the buffs yourself.

3) I did not do extensive mono pushing but if your Summon Wolf skill points are 31+ you may consider Leap Attack for quicker clear and better surviability

4) Blessings... my only area of consideration is if Grand Spirit of Command would be better replaced by Grand Promise of Death since probably 40% of the damage is necrotic. Only concern is effective time to get the shred up via Swipe, I have not tested as I have 96% minion damage roll and not convinced its worth it for current content.

5) Drop Grand Heorot Idol X 3 haste affixes for anything of minimal value as you stay haste capped w/ Windswept 1/1. Not many options, health regen probably as good as it gets.

6) The gear in the planner is my current gear not necessarily the most ideal. A few BiS improvements I am chasing include:
