Overview

?

Defeated corruption 400 Orobyss and farming 409 corruption mono's, end-game viable build :)

Do you like builds with insane attack speed? Do you like builds that are not too complicated to play? Look no further! I've got you covered. This is a really satisfying build that has insane attack speed, and reaps the profits of that by triggering lots of on-hit effects:

While you are doing this, you will be auto-casting a lot of Tornados which are stuck to you due to Eye of the Storm. This causes even more on-hit effects due to Churning Orbs. All on-hit effects that deal damage translate into amazing survivability due to Bleeding Heart.

The fast attack speed of this build will also complement the Bleeding Heart. This build gets its attack speed from:

Due to Ancestral Swiftness 4/4, Warm Shelter 1/1 and Grounded Refuge 1/1 Tempest strike will cost 0 mana. This means you can keep holding down the tempest strike button after you go into the negatives when spamming a few Earthquake for the Aftershocks and/or when a lot of Tornados spawn due to Ceaseless Tyhoon (The tornado's still cost mana).

Because this build has so, so, many on-hit effects, SuffixChance to Bleed on Hit is very powerful because it is also physical. It therefore scales perfectly with this build. Even tornado's storm orbs will bleed!

This is my very first build I decided to build myself, and I'm very much surprised by how strong and satisfying it is to play!

I recently hit lvl 100 with it and am currently pushing corruption. Nothing too high yet, currently 260

Pros & Cons

Pros

No uniques / rare items required to start the build off

Nice defense and insane leech due to high amounts of hits from various sources in combination with Bleeding Heart

Very satisfying due to the fast attack speed and many hits

Cons

Requires idols to really pop off

Gameplay / Mechanics

Gameplay

  1. Cast Warcry to get Bringer of Winter, Apply Frigid Breath, and buff yourself with Fury Strikes
  2. Start holding down Tempest Strike to:
  3. Summon loads of Tornados due to Ceaseless Tyhoon
  4. Trigger PrefixChance on hit to summon a Thorn Totem for defense / armor shred
  5. Trigger Aftershock from PrefixChance To Create An Aftershock Under A Nearby Enemy On Melee Attack

If the target doesn't feel like dying or if you want to kill it quicker, cast a few Earthquakes to generate Aftershocks. However, only do this if your target has Chill applied.

This will send your mana into the negatives, but fear not because Tempest Strike costs 0 mana and will eventually recover your mana. It does this due to Resurgence of the Land, if RNG doesn't bless you with Ceaseless Tyhoon.

Movement

When moving around in monoliths, use Fury Leap as your movement ability.

Survivability

If you are having problems with survivability, you can use Warcry defensively to cleanse all ailments ( Purging Shout ) and heal ( Breath of Eterra 3/3 ).

Skills

Stat Priorities

Damage Wise

Aim for:

  1. PrefixMelee Attack Speed
  2. PrefixPhysical Damage or PrefixMelee Physical Damage (Melee physical damage scales with Earthquake and Tempest Strike, but NOT with Tornado, increased physical damage scales with everything)
  3. SuffixPhysical Penetration and Minion Physical Penetration
  4. SuffixChance to Bleed on Hit. Bleed deals physical DoT, there for it:
  • 1. Scales with this build due to all the physical scaling
  • 2. Scales with physical penetration
  • 3. Scaled with Shred physical resistance blessing Grand Fury of the North

Defensive Wise

Similar to other builds. Only start focusing on this once you get to higher levels and start on empowered monoliths.

  1. Get 75 Poison, Necrotic and Void resistances. You get maxed Elemental + Physical from your totems
  2. Get 100% SuffixReduced Bonus Damage Taken from Critical Strikes. To get this, use the suffix SuffixArmor and Reduced Bonus Damage from Crits. This will also give you armor, which is better than stacking crit avoidance. Tip: There are boots with this as a base: Citadel Boots
  3. Aim for somewhere between 50-60% Armor. Don't sacrifice health for this
  4. Stack health. The more health you have the stronger single hits you can survive. You will heal back to full almost instantly after receiving damage.

However, there's one extra thing to keep in mind with this build. Applying 3 stacks of Frailty gives a nice 18% damage reduction, which is really nice. Since this build attacks so fast, it is really easy to maintain 3 stacks. So, be sure to have SuffixChance to apply Frailty on Hit somewhere on your gear. Even a T1 should suffice to keep 3 stacks up against bosses, but a T2 or T3 would make it airtight

When looking for weapon bases, use Wengari Axes. It adds even more bleed into the build, and increases it's duration as well! My planner currently does not have these. That is because I recently found out how amazing bleed is as an additive to this build

See Build Variants for more information about what gear you should aim for!!

Idols

For the idols, there are 2 very important idols.

First: PrefixChance on hit to summon a Thorn Totem is important because it summons 5 thorn totems on hit, which will:

Secondly, PrefixChance To Create An Aftershock Under A Nearby Enemy On Melee Attack.

This creates an aftershock from the earthquake tree, which, you guessed it: scales with Earthquake. Be sure to get 2 of these with the highest percentage you can find!

The damage of these aftershocks are very strong because of Shatterquake. Tempest strike itself doesn't add Chill, but it does in our case because we selected Tempest Form.

For survivability, make sure you match your idols with the suffix SuffixIncreased Aspect of the Boar Effect to increase the passive Boar Heart that is already great for survivability.

Fill the rest of your slots with armor/health or missing resistances.

Idol
Stats

PrefixArmor

SuffixHealth

Nice to fill up empty slots with

PrefixChance to Bleed on Hit

SuffixShared Physical Damage

Physical and bleed. Best idol for extra DPS

PrefixChance To Create An Aftershock Under A Nearby Enemy On Melee Attack

SuffixIncreased Aspect of the Boar Effect

Best idol and a must have on later levels. This is the heart of the build that will push out a lot of damage

PrefixChance on hit to summon a Thorn Totem

SuffixIncreased Aspect of the Boar Effect

necessary for survivability. Summoning totems yourself costs a lot of mana and is too much of a hassle.

Blessings

Timeline

The Black Sun

Grand Memory of Light

Very good for survivability

Ending the Storm

Grand Mysteries of the Deep

Nice to have. You still deal lightning damage, but don't focus on getting this one first

Reign of Dragons

Grand Hemmorage of Marrow

Very important. This will greatly increase the amount of bleed stacks you will be able to push out

The Age of Winter

Grand Fury of the North

Very important. This build is physical based, self explanatory

Spirits of Fire

Grand Body of Obsidian

Best defensive blessing in this tier

Fall of the Outcasts

Grand Winds of Fortune

Choose whichever blessing fits you

The Stolen Lance

Grand Embrace of Ice

Choose whichever blessing fits you

Blood, Frost, and Death

Enmity of the Clans

Choose whichever blessing fits you

Fall of the Empire

Build Variants

Leveling

While you are still leveling, spec into Gathering Storm (Just select some attack speed/dmg/mana gain nodes. You wont keep this skill for long) and dump your mana on tempest strike. Once tempest strike nearly doesn't cost any mana anymore you can de-spec this and go full tempest strike.

If you're having trouble with survivability while leveling, add some PrefixMelee Damage Leeched as Health / PrefixShared Physical Damage Leeched As Health to your gear if you don't have a Bleeding Heart

Endgame

This actually works pretty good in the end-game. The damage definitely isn't lacking, and if it is cast some Earthquakes. The most important thing is survivability on high corruption, so put your focus on that. See the Stat Priorities defensive section.
