Overview

?

Hello everyone!

I've made this build as I realized how many stacks of Dusk Shroud Explosive Trap provides.

In this build every Dusk Shroud you have gives you up to +32% multiplicative DMG with Umbral Blades which is your big damage source aka boss killer. Passively 8% is from Edge of Obscurity 4/4 node and another 16% from 2 x from Ornate Majasan Idol - PrefixIncreased Damage with Umbral Blades per stack of Dusk ShroudActively 8% extra bonus when you use Smoke Bomb. Your Explosive Trap also benefit from this thanks to Umbral Saboteur 1/1 node, which is nice aoe spammer. On the top of these benefits is our defense - you will have 100% glancing blow and 80%+ dodge chance, so you can skip a lot of these defensive bonuses from passive tree and affixes on items, so you can focus on other stats.

You don't need any specific uniques, but what I am trying right now is Ward Trail with +3LP for extra ward per dodge. Mostly you will have 80% dodge chance, so this provide you some extra defense. Optional unique what you could use as well is Elecoe's Abandon. With at least +2LP, you could craft powerfull chest with +2 throwing skills and +X to all resistance. Overall you can choose to use different implicit items with different affixes, because there are just few core stats you need to apply to make sure this build gonna work well. 2 daggers are the best, because this gives you huge crit chance with PrefixIncreased Critical Strike Chance per Equipped Dagger

Overall I am really happy, that this build working as I intended, so If you try this, you should have blast, specially against bosses.

Pros & Cons

Pros

Good defense with 50+ stacks of Dusk Shroud, 80%+ dodge chance

No need to spend passive points for glancing blow or extra dodge chance

Not dependent on uniques

Cons

Requires some decent gear to active this build

Need to be sure and monitor to have at least 20+Dusk Shroud to be more tanky to not die instantly

Low HP build

Gameplay / Mechanics

MONOLITH TACTIC:

Before you start, use Smoke Bomb to proc Silver Shroud from Moonlight Bomb 2/3 node, so you have extra defense from start. After that start to spam Explosive Trap to stack Dusk Shroud. Make sure, that you always holding your left mouse buttom to constantly moving. This gives you more defense from Evasion 5/5 and Tailwind 6/6 passive tree. Use Aerial Assault anytime it's off cooldown. This recover 9% of your mana back from Refreshing Resolve 3/3 node and also proc Umbral Blades from Twilight Strike 3/3 node + gives you 6 seconds Haste and Frenzy from Falcon's Havoc 2/2.

Mostly I don't use default Umbral Blades, because Explosive Trap and Twilight Strike 3/3 node doing enough damage to get rid of all enemies around me, but sometimes when enemies have dodge/glancing blow or high HP affixes, it's good to use default Umbral Blades to kill high health enemies asap.

In this scenario I am using this tactic - use Aerial Assault while you moving forward and spam Umbral Blades in front of you, so all thrown umbral blades from Twilight Strike 3/3 will return to you. In this case enemies left behind will be damaged from recalled blades. Remember, that recalled blades are our main source of damage, not thrown blades. Regarding Falconry skill. Most of the time you don't need to use it. I am only using it to proc Wake of Wings 3/5 for movement and attack speed and If you really want to execute bosses or deadly enemies with Bird of Prey 2/2 node.

BOSS TACTIC:

This is really straight forward - spam Explosive Trap while you used Aerial Assault to get closer to boss. Stack as many shrouds as possible (50 should be fine), use smoke bomb and then use Umbral Blades to recall them = GG. In this case you should kill bosses within few seconds.

Stat Priorities

STATS PRIORITY:

  1. Critical strike - try to reach at least 80%. I am using Obsidian dagger for physical dmg implicit, one prefix with PrefixCritical Strike Chance and PrefixIncreased Critical Strike Chance per Equipped Dagger on head, which gives you plenty of crit chance.
  2. Flat and % throwing damage / physical damage + Multistrike.
  3. Throwing attack speed - this is needed to stack up as many Dusk Shrouds against bosses as possible for killing blow.

Build Variants

Leveling

I don't think, that this build is good for leveling. I would recommend some other leveling builds.

Endgame

Endgame is only experience I have with this build. It's very fast pace build with very high damage and good defense. However, you still want some HP affixes to survive some hits, which can be deadly. Try to avoid AoE, but this shouldn't be a problem with this build. You should have more than 100% movement speed from all support resources, so avoiding deadly AoE or telegraph hits isn't your problem. When you doing monoliths, try to avoid dodge affix, this is only one affix which is a bit pain, because when enemies dodge you do 0 damage and sometimes it can be a problem at high monoliths. I am at around 350+ corruption right now and killing mobs is fast and satisfying.

Regarding bosses - this is the best build I've ever played to kill bosses - you can kill T4 Julra within 5 seconds and bosses from corruption 350+ are dying in the same way even with defensive affixes like damage reduction or higher resistance.

Loot Filter

No loot filter is provided for this guide. You can generate a loot filter for this build in the Build Planner or create one using Filter Wizard in the Loot Filters section.
